We’ve Updated the Patina Project Roadmap! (Nov 15, 2023)

Hello everyone! It's been a while since our previous update, but I'd like to get everyone caught up on what's been brewing behind-the-scenes at Patina Project.
First, a personal note 
Patina Project has been an after-work-hours project for me and Hill (knoll) for the last three years, since its inception. I'm excited to share that I've recently made the decision to focus my efforts on Patina Project full-time! Over the last couple of years, I've enjoyed witnessing how you've used Patina Project as a resource for learning which boots, shoes, and leathers work for you. You've helped grow this thing into an incredible community-driven tool for helping one another discover the right pair. I'm thankful for how far we've gotten here, but there's TONs of work to be done to address community feedback and create the ultimate resource for the footwear community. I can’t wait to bring you tons of new improvements and features, and I hope you’re as excited about the future of Patina Project as I am!
What's new ✨
We launched our major release for Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome 2023-24 in October. While you’ve been registering pairs and submitting your first rounds of photos, we’ve been hard at work on near-term improvements to make the app experience much better, and shaping our plans for the future of Patina Project.
Below are all the new improvements and fixes we've made since October:
Improvements
Thunderdome only
: Send push notifications when a photo submission window opens and is about to close. Notifications are only sent for eligible pairs without photo submissions for the current window.
Thunderdome only
: Remove "When did you first wear it?" field for Thunderdome pairs to avoid confusion. The date of your first Thunderdome submission will automatically be used.
Thunderdome only
: Clarify you can still submit photos when a size warning is shown.
Make it clearer which fields are optional or required.
Add a sign-in button to the profile screen when signed out.
Autofill spec name from search when adding a new spec.
Android only
: Added double-tap gesture to start zooming when in fullscreen mode.
Bug Fixes
Fixed send comment button pressable area; it was too small.
Fixed "blank" images caused by large file sizes.
Fixed "blank" images by fixing support for HEIF/HEIC image formats.
Fixed saved pairs being incorrectly sorted by their Thunderdome awards.
Fixed a performance issue causing the feed to take longer than usual to load.
Fixed a bug where Thunderdome numbers of pairs would be stuck loading forever when signed out.
Fixed an issue where previous contests were not scrollable.
Removed an unnecessary (Optional) from the comment input placeholder.
Web only
: Disabled zoom gestures since aren't supported yet and currently break in browsers.
Web only
: Fixed a bug preventing scrolling past first few items.

December 2023: Review 1000+ specs submitted for Thunderdome 3
December 2023: Search by maker, leather, or model in stores
Winter 2024: Polish search, filter, and spec-viewing experience
Winter 2024: Specs & filters expansion. More useful filters such as style, color, and tannery. Two-tone boot support.
Spring 2024: Upload multiple photos + stability improvements to photo uploads
Spring 2024: Improvements to the web browsing experience
Summer 2024: More feed controls, such filtering by style preferences and muting specific users
Summer 2024: Polish social features. View your Patina Project notifications in-app.
